Peter Loftspring has been responsible for the evolution of Black & Veatch’s global ethics and compliance management program from initial documentation of compliance practices to extensive management approvals, online and in-person training programs, company-wide compliance council management, global risk assessments and in-depth audits. With over 10,000 employees, Black & Veatch is the 12th largest employee-owned company in the United States and is a global leader in building critical human infrastructure in the energy, water, telecommunications, and government services sectors.

Peter manages the daily operations of the company’s global compliance organization, oversees third-party due diligence, leads investigations, directs annual training and regularly reports to the company’s Board of Directors. In addition, he provides legal support for special projects and consults on the company’s efforts to streamline contract review.

Prior to joining Black & Veatch in 2006, Peter provided legal support and compliance guidance for domestic and international engineering and construction companies including Jacobs Engineering, Halliburton and Kellogg Brown & Root. His experience as a Chemical Engineer in the process industries prior to becoming a lawyer has given him a keen appreciation for and insight into the operations, technology and people he has supported over the years. He has advised and supported professionals from a large number of cultures, countries and continents and served as an expat in the UK for several years supporting operations in Russia and a number of countries from the Former Soviet Union, Western Europe and Africa.
